Washington D.C.’s population of residents age 65 and over increased 0.4 percentage points from 11 percent in 2013 to 11.4 percent in 2014. However, the region’s population of children under the age of 18 and adults age 18-64 decreased 0.1 and 0.4 percentage points, respectively, during that same time period.
