Washington D.C.’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined to 4.1 percent in December 2015, down 0.6 percentage points from the December 2014 rate. D.C.’s jobless rate was below than the benchmark average of 4.7 percent and had the 3rd lowest unemployment rate of all benchmark peers.
The metropolitan region with the highest unemployment rate was Chicago at 6 percent; Denver had the lowest unemployment rate in December 2015 at 3.3 percent.
