Annual Change in GDP

Washington D.C.’s real GDP experienced a year-over-year growth of 0.9 percent, the smallest growth among all benchmark regions. However, the region’s GDP in 2013 was still the fourth-highest, below only Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is released annually by the Bureau of Economic Analysis at the U.S. Commerce Department.
