The Washington D.C. region added 67,100 jobs between October 2014 and October 2015, a 2.1 percent increase. That percentage was above the benchmark average of 2 percent.
According to the preliminary numbers, in the 12-month period, manufacturing jobs declined by 1.2 percent and information jobs declined by 1.2 percent.
Sectors which gained jobs in the 12-month period include transportation and utilities (up 5.4 percent), professional and business services (up 3.5 percent) and educational services (up 3 percent).
